Empowering Women in Tech: Eccles Adobe Social Impact Challenge
The Eccles Adobe Social Impact Challenge brought together students from the University of Utah to draw on their creativity, digital skills, and entrepreneurial spirit in support of a worthy cause.
The Information Systems program at the Eccles School partnered with Adobe and Tech-Moms to host a competition where student teams created a website to promote Tech-Moms’ mission. Tech-Moms is a non-profit organization focused on empowering women transitioning into tech roles and achieving long-term career success.
Students used Adobe Express to create compelling recruiting websites using the data and assets from Tech-Moms. These teams not only gained valuable digital storytelling skills but also contributed to a meaningful social cause. As they worked to build these websites, they were helping to cultivate a supportive community of women and creating opportunities for future success.
This year, the competition was opened to both graduate and undergraduate students to participate in. Overall, there were a total of 100 students making up 37 teams that competed in the week-long Eccles-Adobe Social Impact Challenge.
The challenge was a powerful and inspiring event. It showcased the potential of combining digital skills, creativity, and community support to empower women in tech. This case competition was more than just a challenge; it was an example of the positive change that can be achieved when individuals come together with a shared purpose.
