Editor’s Note: The David Eccles School of Business Ambassadors traveled to Guatemala for a cultural experience during Spring Break 2016. This is a series of 12 journal entries detailing their experiences. This experience is written by Tyler Petrowski.

Day 8 (March 18): One of the best days of the trip was the Friday before we left.

After studying at UFM in the morning, we packed our belongings and headed to Antigua for the weekend. Prior to leaving the university, we discussed meeting up with the Guatemalan students in Antigua so they could show us a night on the town. This was a lot of fun because we went around to the various shops, and we were able to bargain for knockoff sunglasses and DVDs.

Later that night, we went to a fancy restaurant for dinner and then clubbing with the students. I had never been clubbing before, but it was so much fun to relax and enjoy ourselves with the Guatemalans. Both groups of students had a wonderful time but sadly, we had to say goodbye to each other at the end of the night. Connecting with the Guatemalan students on this day is making me looking forward to seeing them again in September when they come to Utah.
