Editor’s Note: The David Eccles School of Business Ambassadors traveled to Guatemala for a cultural experience during Spring Break 2016. This is a series of 12 journal entries detailing their experiences. This experience is written by Erica Savage.

Day 10 (March 20): On Sunday, we were able to wake up and see sawdust rugs laid out on the streets of Antigua.

They were incredibly colorful and intricate, and I could not believe how much time and effort went into making these rugs. Throughout the day, we were able to watch the Semana Santa Procession through the streets of Antigua. It was incredibly special to watch, and I could not believe the amount of people out to see this event.

After spending the morning and afternoon enjoying the procession and walking around to look at the rugs and churches, we shopped some more in the market. Our group was able to buy some last-minute souvenirs before heading home the next day.
