Within Business Student Government (BSG), our mission is to encourage students to actively be engaged during their time at the David Eccles School of Business. Not only to strengthen their sense of belonging, but also to provide opportunities to make a meaningful impact in their communities. For September’s service project, Business Student Government organized an event for students called “Hope Notes.”

During Hope Notes, students gathered to write around 200 uplifting letters for peers in need of encouragement and support. We hope these letters reach students who find solace and comfort in their words. These heartfelt messages will serve as a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a significant impact for someone who may be struggling.

“I think it’s good to hear from other students that also may be going through stress during school, to understand how they’re pushing through and that they’re supporting their community,” said Cali Bourdos, a junior pursuing a Marketing degree and a Hope Notes participant. “It’s good to hear advice from others on how to keep going.”

The notes from this cause will be donated to the University Counseling Center (UCC). Located on the fourth floor of the Student Services Building, the University Counseling Center is a resource that aims to support students’ intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social growth through developmental, preventive, and therapeutic services and programs.

As students, we realize that life can get overwhelming at times. We’re here to remind you that you are never alone!
