MBA programs at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business maintained an upward trajectory in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best Business Schools rankings, which were released this week.

The Eccles School’s Full-Time MBA was ranked No. 38 overall, improving 10 spots from the 2023 rankings. It was also ranked No. 15 among public schools (up eight spots), and No. 8 among Western schools (up one spot).

Eccles’ Professional (part-time) MBA program came in at No. 17 overall (up four places from a year ago). It also ranked No. 11 among public schools (up one spot), and No. 5 among Western schools (unchanged).

Concurrently released rankings for entrepreneurship had the Eccles School come in at No. 12 overall (and No. 5 among public schools).

“We’re incredibly proud of our MBA students, alumni, faculty, and staff for the hard work they put in to make all our programs so successful,” said Brad Vierig, Associate Dean of MBA programs and Executive Education. “U.S. News & World Report provides an external validation of what we in the University of Utah community already knew: We are deeply committed to the value of graduate business education, continuous improvement, and to providing the greatest possible return on investment to our students and their employers.”

To calculate rankings for the best on-campus MBA programs, U.S. News & World Report sent survey requests to all 506 MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). A total of 339 responded, and of those, 124 were included in the rankings released this year. For these rankings, U.S. News & World Report based their results on a weighted average of peer assessment, recruiter assessment, placement success, and admissions selectivity.
