David Eccles School of Business and School of Accounting maintains prestigious AACSB accounting and business accreditation
The University of Utah David Eccles School of Business has maintained accreditation for its business and accounting programs from the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).
AACSB Accreditation is an international hallmark of excellence in business and accounting education, and has been earned by less than 5 percent of the world’s business programs. It is known as the longest standing, most recognized form of specialized, professional accreditation an institution and its business programs can earn. Today, there are 727 business schools in 48 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. Similarly, 182 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.
“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accounting Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”
All programs within the Eccles School are covered under this accreditation, including eight undergraduate majors, four MBAs, five other graduate programs, a Ph.D. program, and executive education offerings.
“We are proud to have maintained our accreditation in both business and accounting,” said Dean Taylor Randall. “The Eccles School continues to provide outstanding instruction and contributes to business fields through peer-reviewed faculty research. We give students exceptional experiential learning, entrepreneurship and innovation opportunities and deliver excellent value through a high-quality business education.”
The school’s faculty and staff work tirelessly to create the best possible learning environment for students, supported by world-class faculty and real-world experience.
