Changing convictions after taking a moral stance could cost you
Business leaders or politicians who make decisions based on moral grounds rather than pragmatic ones may face fiercer repercussions if they later change their minds.
New research by Tamar Kreps, an assistant professor of Management at the David Eccles School of Business, shows that moralizers who later change their minds are seen as more hypocritical than those who make decisions based purely on economics. Read more about this new research in The Economist.
