Business Scholars took part in a fun and innovative leadership conference over the weekend at Zion National Park. The leadership retreat offered students the opportunity to get out of the school environment and into one of the most beautiful places in Utah, get to know each other better, and experience several amazing key note speakers that traveled to meet there.

With two days of leadership oriented presentations — including one from a NASA astronaut — the Business Scholars were able to take away many lessons and life advice from some very successful business leaders of today.

Students spent Friday and Saturday morning in conferences, but still had plenty of time to explore Zion with their friends and peers. Hikes included Hidden Canyon, Scout’s Landing, Emerald Pools, Canyon Overlook, and a portion of the  famous Narrows. The weather was perfect and made for a great day of bonding and fun.

The close proximity to the beautiful and unique landmarks in Zion National Park add to the long list of reasons it’s so amazing to be a student at the University of Utah. No other freshmen business students in the nation are offered the chance to take part in leadership conferences like these sponsored by Business Scholars, let alone in one of the world’s most beautiful parks. And this is just one of the amazing opportunities offered by the Business Scholars program! Each fall the group takes a domestic business trip where students visit a variety of professional companies and learn the ins and outs of business travel.
