Last week was homecoming at the University of Utah, while the football team had a tough loss, there was still tons of fun to be had at the various festivities. One major event that is hosted during Homecoming Week is the annual 5k race. One of the active groups at the David Eccles School of Business is Beta Alpha Psi. BAP President, Maggie Cosgriff wrote about the group’s involvement this year:

“On Saturday, September 27th, Beta Alpha Psi received an award for being the largest student organization to participate in the Homecoming Scholarship 5k. With over 80 students registered through Beta Alpha Psi, the club had an outstanding turnout. The group has received this recognition for many consecutive years and is proud to keep this tradition alive. We would like to give thanks and appreciation to Jill Briggs from PWC for sponsoring their students in this race.

The funds generated from this event are given out as scholarships to University of Utah students. With winning the award for the largest student organization participating, the club received $1,000 as a prize. Beta Alpha Psi raffled off $500 each for one male and one female member of the organization. The recipients of this year’s scholarship are Sircy Maggio and Zach Buehner. We are looking forward to next year!”
