Summer is heating up! Utah may be a desert, but it’s also great when it comes to water recreation. Check out these places and activities to to cool off and relax.

Lagoon

Utah’s own amusement park is not only great for rides, but you can also cool off at Lagoon A Beach. Enjoy water slides, a lazy river, pools, and much more. Open daily from noon – 7 p.m. (2-for-1 deal on Tuesdays with code “KUTV241”). Learn more here.

Pineview Reservoir

Located in Ogden Valley, Pineview Reservoir offers a sandy beach for relaxing near the water, fishing, and more summer fun. The reservoir is an hour away from campus but well worth the trip. Take a group of friends, food, and floaties to enjoy the cool water temperatures. This great low-cost activity takes you out exploring the Utah terrain and offers fantastic views of the mountains. Provo River Tubing

Floating down the scenic Provo River is a summer “must-do.” Bring your own tube or book an experience through High Country Adventures (student discounts available). You’ll get a ride on the shuttle, a tube, and river navigation. You can even get a double tube for extra fun with friends! The float is 90-120 minutes, so bring sunblock and cold drinks.
