Owlet Baby Monitors, a company launched after successfully navigating the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute’s 2013 Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, has parlayed that success into some great buzz for its product.

In the past year, the company’s baby monitor–which allow people to remotely check on an infant’s heart rate, temperature, oxygen levels and like via a small sock-and-sensor and a connected online app–has garnered Owlet media buzz in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, Businessweek and on ABC News and other outlets.

Now TechCrunch has joined the buzz, posting a story this week. It’s pretty amazing how getting involved with the Utah Entrepreneur Series can turn into something big for the students involved. You can join the competition, too–here’s a place to find out more information.
