Jay Barney to receive John Fayerweather Eminent Scholar Award

Eccles School professor Jay Barney has been selected to receive the 2020 John Fayerweather Eminent Scholar Award from the Fellows of the Academy of International Business, to be presented this July at the AIB annual conference in Miami. This is the most important award given by the AIB and is selected by a committee of Fellows. MRED celebrates 10 years of success

From LA to New York and many cities in between, the David Eccles School of Business Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) network continues to grow across the nation. Mostly concentrated in the Wasatch Valley, MRED graduates manage hundreds of millions of dollars in real estate developments, construction, and various investment funds for corporations large and small. “Due to the huge success of our graduates, demand for the program is at an all-time high,” said Danny Wall, director of the MRED program. From student startup to an IPO of $56 million, Lovesac still going strong

Talk about entrepreneurial success. Shawn Nelson got started selling Lovesac's out of his van in 1999 while still a student here at the University of Utah. Fast forward to today, when the brand just raise $56 million in its IPO. "He was one of the early entrepreneurs in our program and really showed us, and a generation of students, what the possibilities were," Troy D'Ambrosio, Executive Director of the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute told the Deseret News.
