There wasn’t a tiger in their hotel room and no one ended up getting a tooth knocked out, but five MSIS students had one heck of a time exploring the opportunities Las Vegas has to offer those in the field of information systems.

The group toured MGM International, checking out the miles of network cables that keep it running and witnessed firsthand the 11 football-fields’ worth of servers at Switch/SUPERNAP. They jumped in the ball pit at the free-thinking Zappos, and explored the Consumer Electronics Show to see the latest offerings of hundreds of tech companies

MSIS student Chase Rogers hopes more students in the future take advantage of the opportunity to see the inner-workings of companies. Fellow student Hung Tran said the trip helped him better assess what skills he needs to improve to be competitive in the job market.
