Following her MBA and Ph.D. from the David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, Dr. Sundar was a faculty member at the Driehaus College of Business, DePaul University, Chicago. As the Director of the Operations & Supply Chain Program at the University of Utah, she oversees several Capstone projects with top U.S. companies that have operations within Utah. Some of these student projects have resulted in significant operational impact saving over $1 million dollars for the involved companies. She also serves as an Academic Scholar at the Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Her research interests lie in the area of service operations, particularly the area of healthcare process standardization and disaster preparedness.

Dr. Sundar has taught courses in Data Analysis & Decision Making, Business Statistics, Quality Management, Operations and Supply Chain both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is a recipient of the Brady Faculty Superior Teaching award (2020) and the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Leadership in Ethics Education Award (2018). She is a two-time recipient of the Business Career Services Faculty Career Mentor Award (2021, 2020) for exemplary passion and inspirational guidance in career development. She received the Quality Matters Star Award for DePaul Online Teaching (2016) and was recognized by the University of Utah LDS Student Association for Excellence in Education (2017). Dr. Sundar is a two-time recipient of the Outstanding Professor Award given by the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Chi at the University of Utah (2019).
