Zac is a Utah native, born and raised in Riverton and comes from the Navajo, Southern Paiute, and Apache Tribes. He attended Southern Utah University where he received his B.S. in Psychology in 2014. During his undergraduate career, he discovered his interest in working within the umbrella of Higher Education and Student Affairs. He held positions as an Orientation Leader for 3 years at SUU and as the Event Chairman for the Native American Student Association.

Zac went on to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for graduate school where he earned an M.A. in Education Administration – Student Affairs in 2018. While in graduate school, he worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Involvement as well as the University’s Women’s Center. He also graduated with a Master’s Thesis Publication researching Indigenous communities at PWI’s.

Prior to the University of Utah, Zac worked at Southern Utah University as a Student Success Advisor and an Adjunct Instructor. He is passionate about his research interests on Indigenous communities within higher education, first-generation students, and breaking down barriers to access higher education.

Outside of work Zac enjoys spending his down time with his family & 3 huskies. He enjoys traveling on the open road and visiting locations he has yet to travel to. And anything related to the great outdoors.
