Greta Smith
Academic Advisor I
Undergraduate Advising Services, Undergraduate Programs
Greta grew up in Bountiful, Utah, and has always enjoyed all that Utah has to offer. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from Utah State University (Go Aggies!), where she immersed herself in campus life. From studying abroad and playing club soccer to joining various clubs and serving as an orientation leader, her time at USU helped her discover her passion for guiding students through their college experience and helping them find their place in the campus community.
After graduating, Greta began her professional career as a Program Coordinator in USU’s New Student Orientation office (2023). In this role, she found joy in helping new students navigate the challenges of transitioning to college. In 2025, Greta joined the University of Utah as an Academic Advisor in the David Eccles School of Business, where she continues to enjoy being able to support students in finding their path to success. Her goal is to cultivate an environment where students feel empowered and confident, knowing that their academic advisor is an advocate dedicated to their success.
Outside of work, Greta enjoys spending time with her husband, hiking, boating, skiing, playing soccer, baking sourdough, and exploring new places through travel.
