Geoffrey Pears is an assistant professor (lecturer) at the Eccles School of Business. Prior to joining the University of Utah, he studied accounting at Brigham Young University and then at Rice University, where he earned his PhD with research focused on corporate social responsibility and government enforcement.
After internships in corporate and public accounting, Geoffrey decided that teaching was his real value-add in life. His teaching interests are broad. Geoffrey has taught everything from financial accounting to bowling, with many topics in between.
Outside of school, Geoffrey enjoys bowling, doing crossword puzzles, watching movies and tv, watching and playing sports, and listening to Supreme Court oral arguments.
