Wellness Check: How to Recharge Before Finals
As we get closer to another semester ending and finals begin, it’s easy to let the stress take over. Between exams, final projects, and presentations, taking care of yourself sometimes falls to the bottom of the list. But prioritizing wellness now can help you finish the semester feeling more balanced, energized, and confident.
Here are some great ways to recharge, with campus resources available to support you every step of the way!
1. Prioritize mindfulness & rest
Finals season gets busy, and finding time to rest can feel impossible, but it is so essential to make time for mindful moments to improve your concentration and lift your spirits. The Center for Campus Wellness offers free wellness coaching to help you develop good habits and tips on how to stay productive and focused during finals. Another great resource is the University Counseling Center offers free counseling for students and is great if you just need someone to talk to.
2. Recharge with your community
It’s easy to get caught up with classes, studying, and all the stress, so take time to be with the people who recharge your battery. Whether you take a few minutes to grab a bite with friends or put a study group together at the library, surround yourself with those who will lift you up. These moments of connection will not only refresh your mind but also boost your focus and confidence this finals season!
3. Fuel your body and mind
Fueling your body and mind is key to a successful ending of the semester. Don’t forget to eat and stay hydrated throughout the day! The In a Pinch Pantry provides free food & snacks available to all students in need. A great stop to get a quick snack during study breaks or an easy refuel before exams. Another great way to refuel is the Feed U Pantry. The Feed U Pantry has everything from canned goods and frozen foods to ready-to-eat meals to help you stay nourished even when life gets tough.
4. Take a study break and go to a club event!
Wellness doesn’t always mean slowing down; sometimes it means showing up. Attending a campus or club event is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to recharge before finals. Grab free food at Bites with BSG or join a club social to connect and unwind. Sharing these moments of laughter and community helps you find balance when school gets hectic—so grab a friend, take a break, and enjoy yourself!
