Free/Budget-Friendly Options

We know many of you are on the college-student budget, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get out there and enjoy the fall season! Here are four budget-friendly options that will still get you in a spooky mood. (Don’t worry, you can thank us later for creepin’ it real!)

5. Canyon Drive

This option is by far one of the cheapest and most fun activities on this list, and it’s right in your backyard! Grab some friends or family and take a drive up any of our beautiful canyons, and see all of the unBOOlievable views! Some canyons we recommend are Millcreek, Emigration Canyon, Big Cottonwood, and Little Cottonwood.

6. Paint/Carve Pumpkins

Wanting to get crafty this fall? This option is a classic yet creative Halloween activity. And of course, one of the best parts of carving pumpkins is cooking up the seeds afterwards. If you’re looking for a more hands-on activity, you’ll have a (pumpkin) smashing time doing this!

7. Spooky Movie Marathon

Stay in and snuggle up with a spooky movie and have some to die for treats! If you’re needing some help thinking of some good fall/Halloween movies to watch, we’ve got you covered. Here are our top 10 fall/ Halloween movies that we’ve been dying to show you:

  1. Hocus Pocus
  2. Nightmare Before Christmas
  3. Halloween Town
  4. Corpse Bride
  5. Beetlejuice
  6. Coraline
  7. Halloween
  8. IT
  9. The Conjuring
  10. Ghostbusters

8. Football Games

Get in the fall mood while supporting our Utah Utes! If you don’t have a MUSS pass, don’t worry, students are eligible to get one free ticket to a single game! Bundle up, grab your friends, cheer on the UTES, and have a ghoul time!
