David Eccles Week: Leadership

As David Eccles Week continues, the school honors its namesake by looking at Leadership, another value Utah’s first entrepreneur has brought to the school.

David Eccles was a skilled leader who founded more than 50 successful businesses in Utah and across the Intermountain West. David Eccles showed his strong leadership as he helmed many of the companies he founded, and he was able to lead new enterprises throughout the Intermountain West.

David Eccles also served as an alderman and mayor of Ogden, Utah. He learned the importance of leading a community and attending to civic needs.

Leadership is a principle instilled and quality exemplified throughout the Eccles School. Students learn to take on the mantle of leadership as they engage in class presentations, win case competitions and undertake internships at top companies throughout Utah, the country and the world.

That leadership goes beyond the classroom and boardroom and into the community. Eccles School students embrace the leadership skills they learn and apply them to solving social issues and making their communities stronger and safer.

Leadership is exemplified everywhere our faculty, staff, students and alumni go.
