Nitin Bakshi earns Operations conferences ‘Best Paper Award’ for research investigating judicial backlog in India
Nitin Bakshi, chair and professor in the Department of Operations and Information Systems, was honored by the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management (MSOM) Society for his research. Bakshi’s paper, “Service operations for justice-on-time: A data-driven queueing approach,” co-written with Jeunghyun Kim, and Raman S. Randhawa, received the MSOM Service Management Special Interest Group Best Paper Award at the annual Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) conference. Students Bring Utah Pride to the 2025 Red Rocks Adobe Challenge
Creativity, strategy, and Utah pride took center stage at the 2025 Red Rocks Adobe Challenge, where students competed to develop innovative marketing campaigns celebrating the University of Utah’s nationally ranked Red Rocks Gymnastics team. Hosted by the Information Systems major in partnership with Adobe, U of U Red Rocks Gymnastics, and Tech-Moms, the challenge asked teams to design authentic, data-driven sponsorship campaigns using Adobe Express. Students worked tirelessly, often late into the night, crafting presentations that blended design, analytics, and storytelling to connect the Red Rocks brand with fans and sponsors in meaningful ways.
