Are you interested in the emerging field of telehealth, saving the world’s ocean reefs, rebranding a large organization, assessing new markets for proposed diversification programs?

The Greg Goff Strategic Leadership Fellows took on many of these challenges in the 2016-2017 program.

Building on the great work of the first cohort of Greg Goff Fellows, the strategic leadership students chosen for the program will have opportunities to devise innovative solutions and create value for our partner organizations during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Do you enjoy being challenged?

The Greg Goff Strategic Leadership Development program at the Eccles School of Business is designed to help talented, energetic, hardworking undergraduate students develop and hone their skills as strategic leaders.

The program provides tangible opportunities to lead, find problems, solve them, take ownership of value creation, and make important strategic decisions. The program’s goal is to offer a highly differentiated student experience aimed at transforming students with high leadership potential into effective strategic leaders.

Why should you become a “strategic leader?”

In a recent large-scale global study, Management Research Group found that a strategic approach to leadership was 10 times more important than any other factor in influencing the perception of leadership effectiveness. Leaders who exhibit strong skills along strategic dimensions were six times more likely to be seen as effective leaders than leaders who are weak in strategic thinking. Moreover, strategic thinkers were four times more likely to be seen as individuals with significant future potential within their organizations. In other words, people with strategic leadership skills were highly likely to be promoted, and move to the top of their organizations during their careers.
