This course gives students an overview of foundational information systems concepts and how to leverage information systems as strategic resources to gain a competitive advantage and support technology decision-making efforts.
Core concepts addressed in this course include hardware, software, database, networking, cloud computing, business intelligence (BI), enterprise applications, security, and systems development life cycle (SDLC). Key concepts are reinforced through assigned readings and active review/exercises.
Not only will students learn the role of information systems from a business impact, but they also gain a better understanding of how information systems play a role in many of their other day-to-day activities.
