After the craziest year anyone could ever imagine, somehow, Fall semester has finally arrived! Although it may not look the same as years past, we are absolutely determined to make the best of it and grow in new areas. Now more than ever, we believe it is increasingly important to make momentous efforts to stay connected and get the most out of your college experience. BLinc. is here for you!

That being said, we wanted to go a little deeper into who we are, what we aim to do, and how we plan to do it. We focus on four core areas to enhance your college experience, keep you connected, and provide you with more resources and opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge.

1. Knowledge Building

There are a lot of opportunities available to you, and it can seem overwhelming to try to navigate it all. One of our main goals is to make you aware of all of the events, activities, trainings, organizations, and resources that are available to you. Our BLinc. social media and calendar will be up to date with all of the astounding events we have planned. In addition, you are invited to all Business Student Council meetings so you can have your voice heard and be aware of changes or updates occurring within our Eccles community.

2. Skill Building

College is the perfect time to build your skillset. In the Eccles School, we strive to connect you with the best opportunities to develop your leadership skills and offer workshops for everything from sustainability in business to enhancing your writing. These skills will help you to become a more well-rounded individual and give you the opportunities to build on your strengths and improve on your weaknesses.

3. Enhancing Cultural Competency

The Eccles community is a safe space where everyone is welcome. We are so happy that each and every one of you are here. When it comes to business, there is power in diversity and we are constantly striving to be better allies to all. We offer events that encourage you to engage in empathetic global citizenship through inclusion-based opportunities and conversations. This fall, we are very excited about the inclusion-based trainings we planned in Black Allyship Training and Undocumented/Latinx & Hispanic Allyship Training

4. Community Building

Here at the David Eccles School of Business, we know that a strong sense of community is vital in your college experience as well as in your interpersonal growth. There is something powerful in having others to learn from, lean on, build you up, inspire you, and grow with you. We are honored to be that support system for you and want to give you every opportunity to build relationships with more students throughout the Eccles school through events like our Business Social Hours and Welcome Bagels. We are also happy to offer a platform where we can recognize students who are making a difference in our community through our Eccles & U Campaign and our U Belong Here Campaign.

Go check out our BLinc. Fall calendar – you can RSVP now, and be reminded prior to the event, for any and all events that may be of interest to you. We look forward to connecting with you this year and can’t wait to see you (in-person or virtually) at our events!
