Welcome and welcome back to Spring Semester! We hope that you all had a relaxing winter break and are settling back into school. Last Monday and Tuesday, the Business Student Government (BSG) at the David Eccles School of Business hosted Welcome Back Bagels.

Students had a chance to grab some coffee and bagels on the first days of school and learn about upcoming BSG events. We understand the importance of connecting students to resources, advocating for the success of students, and fulfilling basic needs. As school begins again, we want you all to know that we are here for you. Along with BSG, there are plenty of resources within the Eccles School to support you and your needs this semester. Here are just a few:

  • The Business Tutoring Center (BTC)
Located in rooms 1173 and 1175 on the first floor of SFEBB, next to the Undergraduate Lounge, the BTC supports students’ success in their coursework at the Eccles School through a collaborative learning environment. As part of your premier Eccles Experience, the BTC is a FREE academic support resource available to all undergraduate students at the Eccles School. Have questions? Please reach out to tutoring@eccles.utah.edu.
  • In A Pinch
The In A Pinch Basic Needs initiative provides a hub for all basic needs support including campus resources, community resources, and our In a Pinch Pantry which provides free, basic needs items to Eccles students, staff, and their families such as non-perishable food, personal hygiene, and wellness items. You can visit the pantry in the Spencer Fox Eccles Business Building, Rm. 1140W.
  • Business Career Success
The David Eccles School of Business provides career development resources for business students. Career coaches help you explore your passions and strengths and prepare and support you to land internships, jobs, and careers with top companies.
  • Student Belonging Space
The First Ascent Scholars and Opportunity Scholars programs strive to cultivate an environment of belonging through the development of student and community-focused initiatives. We are committed to ensuring all forms of diversity are understood and valued. Visit us in SFEBB 3120 to connect, use the study space to catch up on homework, meet with classmates, or find a quiet moment in the reflection room.
  • Business Student Government
As the student government of the David Eccles School of Business, we aim to empower all students to enhance their Eccles Experience through community-building, student inclusion initiatives, amplifying student voice, and connecting students to resources and opportunities. If you have any questions or want to hang out, come visit us in SFEBB 5121 during our daily office hours!

For those who missed Welcome Back Bagels, there will be plenty of events throughout the year to connect with us and find your community. Spring into Business is just around the corner and will be hosted on Jan. 16 from 3 – 6 p.m., and Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Spring into Business is an amazing way to get involved with all the clubs and programs that the Eccles school has to offer. There will be plenty of food, games, and prizes!
