Kristen Cox
Kris Cox, Executive Director of the David Eccles School of Business’ Initiative on Government Improvement, is a passionate public servant with a career spanning multiple decades, governments, and sectors. She recently served as Executive Director of Utah’s Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget. The executive branch improved performance, service, and value for Utahns with her leadership by 35%. She served as a presidential appointee and leader for the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). She was the first secretary of the country’s first cabinet-level disabilities department. She is the founder of Epiphany Associates and The Fulcrum and co-authored Stop Decorating the Fish and The World of Decorating the Fish (net proceeds donated to the NFB). Kris has received many honors, including an honorary doctorate from Snow College, the Utah State Legislature’s official citation for exemplary service, and Governing Magazine’s 2016 Public Official of the Year.
Glen Schmidt, Ph.D.
Glen Schmidt, David Eccles Professor of Business, is Chair of the Operations and Information Systems Department. His research interests include new product development, supply chain management, and lean-six sigma operations. He has won recognition for teaching and research excellence at the Eccles School and professional societies, including the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and the Production & Operations Management Society (POMS). Industry experience and/or research have been connected to healthcare, high-tech, heavy-duty equipment, automotive, energy, and government.
Staci Ghneim, Ph.D. ABD
As the Director of the David Eccles School of Business’ Initiative on Government Improvement, Staci has blended experience in business, social work, the public sector, and nonprofit management. She has run her own business and worked for the State of Utah, local nonprofits, and international firms.
