In today’s shifting economy, leaders must possess a global mindset to navigate an ever-changing business world. Executive MBA students at the University of Utah travel off-site three times during their program for unique, hands-on learning experiences. Students can learn about the strategic and organizational systems in the modern global industry while expanding their personal and international networks.
Intensive Week
As a kick-off to your Executive MBA journey, you will attend a week-long (Monday through Friday) experience at a secluded location in Utah. You will immerse yourself in two on-site courses and build the team relationships essential to your growth in the program. You will also learn about the norms and expectations of the Executive MBA program and begin to experience the rich resources the program has to offer. These resources include a network of personally and professionally driven peers, a dedicated administrative staff, faculty who are deeply invested in your intellectual and professional development, and a curriculum that develops your leadership skills and fuels personal growth.
Global Immersion 1
This mid-program intensive week takes place at the end of the first year of the program. At this critical reflection point, this 3- to 5-day trip allows you to learn from the top-tier business school faculty of another institution in North America. The trip will include comprehensive lectures with a global framework, thought-provoking coursework, and a site visit to a company in the area. In the past, we have partnered with prestigious universities like ITAM (Mexico City), the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management, and the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business.
Global Immersion 2
The International Field Study is the capstone event to your 21-month Executive MBA journey. During this 7 to 10 day international trip, you will visit companies and governmental agencies, meet with senior-level executives and government officials, and gain insight into cultural, financial, and political business considerations on a global scale. Previous Executive MBA classes have visited countries across the globe, including Argentina, Chile, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
