Program flexibility allows students to take a mixture of online and on-campus classes, giving you the ability to adjust the program as your work and life needs evolve.

Regardless of which of our MBA programs students complete, their diploma will read Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah and will not distinguish between program formats.

Yes, tuition is the same for both in-state and out-of-state students.

It depends. Each applicant’s background and work experience is unique and we will evaluate your situation with a holistic approach. Most students in the program are currently employed in a full-time, professional role. If you would like to discuss your situation, please schedule a 1:1 meeting with one of our admissions advisors.

Yes. There are breaks between semesters and on major holidays. The length and timing of breaks will vary depending on your start date. Once you are admitted, you will receive more detailed information.

How do I take tests? Do I have to come to a testing center?2019-08-22T12:11:30-06:00
Tests are administered through an online proctoring platform and may be taken anywhere with a stable internet connection and a working webcam. Students are required to show their immediate working space to the proctor.
Will my network still grow even though I am online?2019-08-22T12:11:40-06:00
Yes. Our students gain a network that extends across the country through a wide range of industries and functions. Although students may need to adapt to different ways of connecting with others when compared to traditional on-campus students, the program residency, group assignments and discussions, virtual study groups, live webinars, and more provide students many opportunities for connection and growth.
If I choose to take a combination of online and on-campus classes, does this increase tuition?2019-10-18T13:19:00-06:00

No. Tuition is the same for the Professional MBA and MBA Online programs, and taking a combination of classes does not increase tuition cost.

Yes. We currently offer three concurrent degrees and four graduate certificates. Learn more about specialization opportunities.

There are various scholarships available to MBA Online applicants. Please note, if your application includes a valid GMAT or GRE exam as part of your admissions profile, you will automatically be considered for scholarship opportunities. Other university-level and third-party scholarships are also available.

Yes. We accept either test and do not have a preference. We offer an exam substitution that requires a minimum of a 3.0 undergraduate GPA and at least 3 years of full-time work experience. Please visit here for more information.

The program can be completed entirely online, however we strongly encourage students to complete our optional, on-campus residency if possible.  It is a 3-day immersive experience that takes place at the beginning of a student’s first fall semester. It fulfills a 1.5 credit class and it is included in the cost of tuition. Learn more.

The program is six to seven semesters total (dependent on your start date) and students who complete the program at a normal pace finish in 24 months. Students have up to four years to complete coursework. Please contact our office if you have more questions about extending the length of the program.

Yes. Lecture videos are pre-recorded in our on-campus studio and are accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.

About 30% of our students live outside Utah and that number continues to grow each year.
Do I need a business undergraduate?2019-08-22T12:13:06-06:00
No. An undergraduate degree in business is not a prerequisite for the program. About 60-70% of our students come from a non-business background.

For students beginning in 2023, tuition for the entire 2-year program will be approximately $64,800 – $67,200 ($1350 -$1400 per credit hour).
