The MHA program is excited to welcome Dr. Robert C. Pendleton, M.D., as an adjunct professor. Pendleton will be teaching our Healthcare Quality Management, Patient Safety, and Population Health courses.

Pendleton is the chief medical quality officer for U Health at the University of Utah and is a professor of medicine (clinical) at the University of Utah School of Medicine. After completing residency training in internal medicine in 2000, Pendleton co-founded a hospitalist program focused on clinical excellence and educating the next generation. He developed an integrated thrombosis service focused on improving care and advancing knowledge for patients with thrombotic disorders.

Pendleton is engaged with the American College of Physicians where he served four years as Utah’s ACP Governor, Vizient’s Chief Quality Officer Council, ECRI’s Physician Patient Safety Advisory Board, and American Hospital Associations Physician Leadership group.

Pendleton has given numerous keynote lectures on high-value healthcare including at the U.S.-Canada Health Summit, The World Health Organization, and Singapore Ministry of Health.
