The Master of Healthcare Administration program is pleased to announce that Kayla Smartz has joined our team as the admissions coordinator.
Kayla joined the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah in March 2020 as the Admissions Coordinator for the MHA program. Kayla will provide application guidance and information to prospective MHA students.
She has completed two Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Finance at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After moving to Utah in 2012, Kayla worked in finance and operations management. Kayla’s professional experience’s include recruiting, training, event planning, budgeting, and project management.
Kayla loves being in the mountains and enjoys competitive mountain biking, snowboarding fresh powder in the backcountry, and camping. Kayla also enjoys traveling abroad, especially to places with beaches and good surf.
“I have always been drawn to the mountains and the outdoors, which is why I moved to Utah from Michigan eight years ago. I came for snowboarding but I fell in love with everything else that Utah has to offer, such as mountain biking, climbing, camping, and beautiful weather.
“The process of applying to graduate school can be overwhelming. It is my goal to build a relationship with each applicant to help them navigate the application process and being accepted to the University of Utah’s MHA Program. I look forward to getting to know each of you as you begin your journey.”
