Apply to Live at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter

The Impact & Prosperity Epicenter will open its doors in the fall of 2024 to welcome a community of 778 diverse, passionate, and motivated students to their new homes. But did you know applications are open to apply to live at the Epicenter for the 2024 – 2025 academic year and the summer of 2025? Here is a simple guide on how to apply to live at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter.

How to Apply to Live at the Impact and Prosperity Epicenter

1. Submit an Epicenter Application
Now is a great time to get a head start on submitting your Epicenter application. There are lots of benefits to being an early applicant; for example, the Epicenter team will reach out to early applicants with special opportunities to get involved, lead the community, and even earn scholarships. Early applicants will also be the first to know about events, activities, and new information as it becomes available.

While you will ultimately need to be a University of Utah student to live at the Epicenter, there is no need to wait if you are still in high school and not yet admitted to the University of Utah. If you need more information on how to apply to the University of Utah, visit the Office of Admissions website.

2. Start an application with Housing and Residential Education
In addition to completing an Epicenter application, you must start a general campus housing application with our partners at Housing & Residential Education (HRE). To begin this step, you must be admitted to the University of Utah and have a university identification number (uNID). This application opens in November for upper-class students and in January for first-year students. Mark your calendars to be the first to get your application submitted.

3. Notification of Acceptance
Students receive notification if they are accepted to live at the Epicenter or placed on the waitlist for the following academic year. Upper-class student notifications go out in January and first-year students will receive notification in April.

4. Choose your room

Students accepted to live at the Epicenter will be able to select a room starting in the spring semester of 2024 using the Housing & Residential Education portal. Students who want to work together as teams receive priority access to room together in a double room, a 4-bedroom apartment, an 8-bedroom apartment, or an end-cap community.

5. Move into the Epicenter
The first group of students move in for the academic year starting in August 2024. The Epicenter and HRE teams, as well as teams of move-in volunteers, will be present to help ensure a smooth process for everyone.

6. Get involved

Summer 2023 Ghana Experience with the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity

The Impact and Prosperity Epicenter is still under construction, but it is not too early to get involved with the Epicenter community! Joining the Prosperity U Society is a great place to begin – Prosperity U Society members in good standing receive priority access to living at the Epicenter. Other opportunities include participating in an internship with the Sorenson Impact Center, or an academic experience in Ghana with the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity.

7. Ask questions!
Have questions? Wondering about the status of your application? Need help with something? Just excited to get involved and can’t wait until fall 2024? Reach out to Matthew Stevens, Sales and Occupancy Manager for the Impact and Prosperity Epicenter with questions or if you need assistance with the application process.
