Opening fall 2024, the Epicenter will be home to changemakers solving the world’s great challenges. The Epicenter will be more than just a place to live – it will be a dynamic community uniting motivated students who are driven to make our campus, communities, and world better.

But what will life at the Epicenter be like, what kind of rooms will there be, and what kind of lifestyle can students at the Epicenter enjoy? Let’s take a glimpse into life at the Epicenter.

The Epicenter will feature several different housing options for its 778 residents, each of these room types are designed to meet the unique needs of students at different stages of their academic journey. Single and double rooms will include meal plans and are designed to be especially well suited for first year students who might be living on their own for the first time. The 4- and 8-bedroom units are geared towards upperclass and graduate students who are ready to live more independently or who may want to live as a group. End-Cap Communities will be home to a diverse mix of students who are looking for great opportunities for networking and collaborating.

Regardless of which room type students choose, the Epicenter will offer the premier experience on campus. Every bedroom has a window and with the exception of double rooms, every resident at the Epicenter will have a private bedroom with a locking door where they can rest and study.

End-Cap Communities

End-Cap Communities are the most coveted spaces on campus. They feature private sleeping quarters, exceptional views, and roomy shared spaces where the groups of 20 students can gather and connect. Single bedroom units open to expansive floor-to-ceiling windowed lounges that showcase dazzling mountain views.

Apartments

The Epicenter brings apartment-style living to a central on-campus location, allowing students to live together as a group of friends without sacrificing convenience. Both 4- and 8-bedroom units are available. Units feature private bedrooms with bathrooms and a shared full kitchen and workspace, providing a more intimate setting for residents.

Singles and Doubles

The classic single and double rooms will house one or two people. Residents share bathrooms, kitchens, and a lounge space with adjacent residents on the floor.

Shared Spaces, Amenities, and Inclusivity

On the first floor, the Epicenter will include a large community space called the Forum that is open to residents and non-residents alike. It will include a café, ample space for studying and collaboration, events, robust programming, and other opportunities for the whole campus to come together. Amenities like the makerspaces at Lassonde Studios are right next door, and just footsteps away from the Student Life Center’s fitness, sports, and recreation facilities, which are free of charge for all students currently taking credit hours.

The Epicenter will be an inclusive place for all who live there or visit. All room types at the Epicenter will be available in ADA compliant options and some units also feature special communications accommodations. Students can choose between male, female, and gender-inclusive rooms and meditation spaces with ablution rooms are located nearby at Kahlert Village and the Union Building.
