Cultivated Collective: Events hosted by artists, for artists

Moe has always channeled his creative energy into arts and community. Through the SpyHop program, he got introduced to the world of audio engineering, as well as community-based arts programs. This experience ignited a passion that he’s followed since, continuing to pursue music production, and returning as a mentor to SpyHop. Along with his brother Mikey, also an artist, Moe has been exploring the arts space in Salt Lake City. Building their vision for Cultivated Collective, the brothers came together to create a space for local artists to connect and collaborate. Their mission is to break down the barriers of the art scene and bring diverse creatives together to showcase the underground arts community in Salt Lake. Cultivated Collective began hosting mixers and events in downtown Salt Lake, where they attracted local hip-hop and R&B artists and producers with the goal of establishing an open and welcoming space that artists could come back to month after month. As a member of the Doman Innovation Studio, Moe is working to build structure and consistency for the Collective. Seeing consistency validates his goal for creating a community space: hosting a repeated event “means it’s necessary and valuable on some level- it’s building the retention and the muscle [to continue the events].” Building this foundation not only solidifies the brand but opens up space to respond to new opportunities. When he isn’t working on the Collective, Moe is pursuing his own creative endeavors, having just released his first EP, Here to Stay Vol. 1.
