Are there any health risks?
While Holi powder is generally safe, please review the following safety guidelines:
Eyes:

• May cause irritation. Do not wear contact lenses to a color event.
• First Aid: Hold eyelids apart and flush with water.

Skin:

• No significant health hazards.
• First Aid: Dust off and wash thoroughly.

Ingestion:

• Not intended for human consumption.
• No significant health hazards.

Inhalation:

• First Aid: Move to fresh air.
• No known fire hazards.

Recommended Personal Protective Equipment:

• Dust mask/bandana
• Safety glasses/sunglasses
• Protective gloves for prolonged exposure
• Adequate ventilation

Hygienic Practices:

• Wash hands after use.
• Remove excess powder before showering.
• Use an eye rinse if necessary.

What is in the colored powder?

• Made from cornstarch, food-grade dyes, and fragrance.
• Environmentally friendly and non-toxic.
• Least likely to stain if excess powder is shaken out before washing.
• Safety Tip: Avoid throwing colors directly into the eyes or mouth.

What should I wear?
The dry powders may stain hair and clothing, so we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting colored.

What should I bring?

• University of Utah students should bring their UCard.
• This is a bag-free event. If you bring a bag, you will be required to check it upon entry.

Holi marks the arrival of spring and the end of winter. The festival is filled with joy, where people set aside differences and celebrate with color, music, and laughter. Every corner bursts into a vibrant display of colors, bringing people together in a spirit of unity and renewal.

I’m not a student. Can I still attend?
Yes! Simply fill out the waiver form and join us at the event. Waiver forms will also be available on-site.

Where do I pick up my color powder?
There will be three designated stations throughout the event for powder distribution during each scheduled color throw. Stay tuned for announcements during the event for details on when and where to pick up your color powder.
