May was a bustling month at the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter, with significant progress made by the Okland Construction team gearing up for resident move-in at the start of the fall semester.

  • Rooms Ready for Furnishing: Exciting news! Many of the rooms on the first and second floors are now prepped and eagerly awaiting the arrival of furniture. With paint freshly applied, carpets laid down, and fixtures securely installed, these spaces are primed to become cozy havens for our future residents. Rooms are on floors 3-6 will be completed over the next few weeks with newly finished rooms coming online daily.
  • Furniture Move In: Watch for moving trucks on July as furniture is on its way, so everything will be ready for resident to move in early August.
  • Exterior Brickwork: If you’ve passed by the site recently, you may have noticed impressive progress on our exterior brickwork. The meticulous sequencing is nearing completion, giving the building its distinct aesthetic charm.
  • Interior Touches: Inside, the lower floors are starting to take shape with the installation of kitchen backsplashes and millwork. Meanwhile, on the upper floors, drywall is up, and the paint team is hard at work.
  • Site Preparations: Sneak a peek at the north end of the building site, where preparation work is underway for a parking lot.
  • Community Spaces: End cap community locker installations are in full swing across multiple floors, providing convenient storage solutions. Additionally, restroom fixture installation is underway in multiple areas.
  • Elevator Progress: Elevators are now being installed, a crucial step in ensuring accessibility throughout the building. Inspection is scheduled for June to ensure they meet safety standards.

We recently caught up with Okland Construction Superintendent, Chris Opfar, who shared insights into the project’s uniqueness. Opfar noted the vast scale and diverse range of room types, including apartments, dorms, and end-cap communities, promising a truly distinctive living experience. Opfar is excited to see how students will personalize each space.

As construction continues, the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter team is hard at work planning an array of engaging activities to enrich the living experience for future residents. Stay tuned for updates as we announce exciting events and opportunities to get involved.

The countdown to move-in day is on, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome everyone to the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter!
