The Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity—alongside the Sorenson Impact Institute—now proudly calls the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter home, right in the heart of the University of Utah campus.
The Epicenter is made up of three dynamic spaces:
The Residence houses more than 700 globally minded students who are committed to making the world a better place. With a variety of living options—from apartments to end-cap community suites—students are encouraged to build meaningful connections and foster collaboration.
The Forum is where campus life comes alive. Whether you’re grabbing a bite at Café Epicenter or attending a Prosperity U speaker event, this central gathering space is designed to spark interaction, creativity, and ideas.
And finally, there’s the Changemaker Pavilion—home to the Center’s offices and collaborative studio space. Here, students, staff, and community partners come together to turn bold ideas into real-world impact. The open layout offers flexible spaces for meetings, networking, and focused project work—plus stunning views that inspire big thinking.
Ethan Hutchinson, a Prosperity U Intern with the Center, reflects on his time working in the new space by saying, “Working in the Epicenter has felt like being part of a network of ideas—where one thought sparks another, and collaboration becomes a form of collective momentum. It’s a space where we don’t just work side by side, we grow by thinking through each other.”
Stephen Alder, Executive Director of the Center for Business, Health, and Prosperity, notes what this new home on campus means for the Center, “Supported by our new facilities, we are creating opportunities for students in emerging market countries to obtain globally competitive higher education, facilitating the work of entrepreneurs as they create value that can be amplified to elevate socioeconomics in entire communities, and enabling access to affordable high quality health services in some of the most challenging places in the world.”
The new space is filled with light, energy, and possibility. Next time you’re walking through campus, stop by the Impact & Prosperity Epicenter—we’d love to welcome you to our new home.
