Qualitative Study on Vaccine Attitudes
About:
Randomly selected households throughout the Wasatch Front will receive a letter from the Utah HERO project. The letter invites participants to complete a survey that will take approximately 15 minutes. This survey is to be completed by only one adult member of the selected household. Participants are invited to complete the survey regardless of their views on the COVID-19 vaccine.
How You Can Help and Compensation:
We assure you that any information you provide will remain strictly confidential and any summaries of results will not identify you. Households selected as part of this project should complete the survey as quickly as possible, the survey will be closed after receiving 2500 responses.
Additional Opportunity to Participate:
In addition to our online survey, you will also be asked if you are interested in participating in an hour-long group discussion session/ focus group hosted virtually. These discussion sessions are another way for participants to share in-depth information about their perspectives. Selected participants will be offered an additional $60 gift card after completing the one-hour session. Please note not all participants indicating interest in the focus group portion will be chosen for participation.
You do not need to take part in a focus group in order to participate in the survey portion. You will receive the $30 electronic gift card for completing the survey whether or not you decide to be contacted for the group discussion.
CASPER Project on Vaccine Attitudes
About:
The Utah HERO project is collaborating with the state and local health departments to gain a better understanding of Utah residents’ attitudes on COVID-19 through the CASPER (Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response) Method.
The State of Utah seeks to vaccinate the majority of our population to prevent any future COVID-19 impacts on our health, schools, and economy. The HERO project is providing information to decision-makers to understand vaccine uptake in our communities, including why individuals have not been vaccinated or choose not to be vaccinated.
How You Can Help:
- Households in select areas of Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah counties will be randomly selected to complete a brief survey of 10 questions (5-10 minutes).
- Members of our HERO team will stop by these households to see if they are interested in participating. Your participation is voluntary and your responses will be kept strictly confidential. You may choose to stop participating at any time.
- Only one member of the household is needed to complete the survey questions.
- Team members will follow safety and health guidelines as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and local health departments.
Compensation:
Participants will receive a $10 gift card for their time and participation after completing the survey.
