Experiential Learning

Capstone Projects

Students complete capstone projects to apply their skills to real-world challenges through hands-on experiences. Working in teams, students collaborate with industry partners—such as TwitchTV, UTA, and Extra Space Storage—to solve meaningful problems and gain experience that bridges the gap between the classroom and the workplace. This immersive experience builds confidence, collaboration, and a portfolio that stands out after graduation.

Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute

The Lassonde New Venture Development Center gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technical product development, commercialization, and new-business planning. Participants work alongside faculty, industry professionals, and entrepreneurs to bring ideas to life. Students leave the program ready to meet the tech industry’s next challenge with real-world experience in technology entrepreneurship.

TEK Club

The TEK Club is open to all students who have an interest in the intersection of business and technology. Club members have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of C.S. and I.S.-related activities throughout the year, including exclusive networking events, career fairs, guest speakers, and company visits. Students from various programs at the University join the TEK Club, creating a rich member-to-member networking experience.
