Program Highlights
Attend a Top-5 MSBA Program
For 2024, the MSBA program is ranked No. 5 in the U.S. by TFE Times, marking the program’s fifth consecutive year in the top 10 and first year in the top 5. Rankings are based on key program admissions and post-graduation employment success factors, including placement rates and average starting salaries.
The MSBA program offers a unique blend of innovative curriculum in both the data analytics and business space, incorporating subjects including data storage and management, data analysis, data visualization, and the application of analytics to business problems.
The curriculum also includes courses from the Operations, Information Systems, and Marketing departments. Students also have the option to take their electives in another area of business, such as strategy, finance, or accounting.
Business Career Services (MSBA)
The Eccles School offers professional career management services and an MSBA-dedicated career coach to provide students with guidance on all aspects of building a great career. Students have access to recruiting events, an exclusive jobs database, one-on-one consultations with their career coach, and a career-development course.
To enhance the hands-on focus of the MSBA program, students complete a capstone as the culmination of their degree. The capstone is an opportunity for students to work with data from real companies, demonstrate their knowledge in key areas of business analytics, and complete a complex consulting-based project. Learn more about the capstone requirement.
Work-Compatible Schedule
In order to accommodate working professionals, MSBA courses meet once per week and are held in the evenings, with most starting at 6 p.m. Many MSBA courses are available in both online and in-person formats. Students can schedule a mix of on-campus and online courses each semester.
Gateway to a Growing Industry
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of data scientists is projected to grow 36% from 2021 to 2031, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. Whether you have a background in data science or not, the skills earned in the MSBA program can help you advance in or enter this growing industry.
Students can gain specialized knowledge in both data analytics and management. A graduate-level analytics certificate provides an advantage to students seeking to advance their careers in the rapidly growing market for data and analytics professionals. Learn more about the Graduate Certificate.
