Tell us something about your thesis – your research, your findings, or what you learned:

The thesis analyzes the correlation between market concentration and a portfolio’s returns. It looks at the S&P 500’s industry composition and analyzes its relationship with the index’s volatility in excess returns and Sharpe ratio. The results found that in the short run, concentration can affect volatility of a portfolio or index. However, in the long run, the paper did not find statistically significant correlations between volatility and concentration level, or between Sharpe Ratio and concentration level.
