Flexible Online Format
We see the value in students gaining work experience while attending graduate school. The MSIS Online allows students to complete coursework when their schedule allows, while keeping them engaged with frequent deadlines and weekly faculty webinars. Online course schedules follow the same timeline and rigorous curriculum as in-person courses.
Full-Time and Part-Time Options
MSIS Online students can complete the program at a full-time or part-time pace. Students attending full-time complete the program in 3 semesters (12 months), and students attending part-time take 4 to 6 semesters (15-24 months). Full-time and part-time students have the same schedule options, and students are able to adjust their enrollment status semester by semester.
Career Management Services
The David Eccles School of Business offers professional career management services and an MSIS dedicated career coach to provide students with guidance on all aspects of finding a great career. Students have access to an exclusive jobs database and one-on-one virtual consultations with their career coach, in addition to a career development course.
For MSIS Online students, gaining hands-on experience through courses and projects is essential for starting or continuing a career in technology. Each course provides an opportunity for students to gain real-world skills and immediately apply theories learned to real-life business problems.
MSIS Capstone Project
Online MSIS students complete a capstone project as the culmination of their degree. The capstone project is an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience by completing a complex information systems project with the guidance of an IS faculty member. Completed over three semesters, the capstone is worth three credit hours. Find out more about the capstone project.
Networking is one of the most powerful tools in finding and securing a great job. One of the greatest networking resources you will find in the MSIS Online program is your fellow student. State-of-the-art webinars and video conferencing allow students to connect with their peers and instructors.
Gateway to a High-Growth Industry
With an anticipated 15% growth in the IT industry by 2024, an MSIS degree in a state with a leading technology market has never been more valuable. Utah is commonly referred to as the Silicon Slopes, and nationally recognized companies are responding to industry growth by creating a strong presence in and around the Wasatch Valley.
