MSCM students have access to a number of career-management resources at the Eccles School, including a career coach who works one-on-one with students. We are dedicated to providing resources to help students maximize their graduate education.

One out of every three jobs in cybersecurity is vacant due to a shortage of qualified personnel available to meet the demand (Microsoft, Oct. 2021).

We view this as a management problem, as security controls must be implemented in every department or business unit in an organization. Many controls are policy, procedure, and human behavior-oriented, not just information-technology specific. This requires experienced leaders with not only strong technical and analytical skills, but also business communication and risk management capabilities.

For this reason, the Eccles School created the Master of Science in Cybersecurity Management Program as we are uniquely positioned to teach both the technical and leadership skills required for students looking to enter this new and rapidly changing field. Our goal is to position graduates to obtain excellent employment and have longer-term career advancement opportunities.
