Josh Feng has been awarded a research grant from the National Institute for Health Care Management (NIHCM) Foundation, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization interested in finding solutions to pressing health care problems in the US. The grant will support his ongoing work on the effects of consolidation in prescription drug markets on drug prices and patient access. The research will help improve our understanding of how actors (drug manufacturers, pharmacy benefit managers) in the US drug pricing system interact to generate market outcomes, and will also have implications for antitrust regulators. The funds from the grant will be used primarily for purchasing historical data on prescription drug insurance coverage.
