Brian Dunn
Brian Dunn is a health care visionary who has been at the helm of leading health care organizations across the United States for more than 30 years. With an expertise in team-building, collaborative partnerships, and leadership management, Brian has helped shape the current health care landscape to best serve the needs of patients in the region’s communities.
Brian is the regional president of Steward Health Care’s Western Region comprised of the States of Utah and Arizona, including the affiliated hospitals, surgical centers, urgent care centers, and imaging centers, as well as Steward Medical Group practices and affiliated Steward Health Care Network providers.
Previously, Dunn was an Operating Partner at the private equity firm The Riverside Company. Prior to Riverside, he served as the Chief Executive Officer at Success Health Care and Executive Vice President for hospital operations at Promise Healthcare, both national hospital systems. Dunn has also worked for CHG Healthcare Services as their Executive Vice President, Arizona and Nevada Regional President for Iasis Healthcare, and as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Salt Lake Regional Medical Center. Steward acquired IASIS in 2017.
Brian also has prior experience with Community Health Systems as Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions and CEO of one of their Tennessee hospitals. He also has experience with HCA Healthcare as a hospital CEO in California and Utah. Brian began his healthcare career with Intermountain Healthcare.
Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Utah and earned his Master of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. He was recognized as a Top 40 business person under the age of 40 by Utah Business Magazine in 2003 and was recognized as a Solucient 100 Top Hospitals Performance Improvement Leader in 2005.
He believes in maintaining strong community ties and has proudly served on various community boards including the MotivHealth Insurance Company, American Heart Association, Catholic Community Services, Salt Lake Applied Technology College, and the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.
