Jenn was born and raised in Utah and has been a lifelong University of Utah fan. Both of her parents graduated from the University of Utah, her father in accounting and mother as a teacher of music and Masters of School Administration. Jenn spent her youth focusing primarily on school while competing and travelling nationally for tennis. At one point in time, she was ranked #1 in the state of Utah and was a two-time state champion in high school. Jenn attended the University of Utah on an athletic scholarship for tennis and was a member of the women’s tennis team for five years (red shirting one year due to a shoulder injury). She earned my bachelor’s degree in accounting in 3 years graduating magna cum laude, followed by her master’s degree in accounting while still competing on the tennis team. During that time, Jenn married a fellow student who also got his degrees in accounting from the University of Utah.

After graduating, Jenn worked for the international professional services firm, Grant Thornton LLP. She worked at Grant Thornton in the tax department for 22 years, the majority of which she worked on a flex schedule arrangement as she raised three children and was very involved in their activities. At Grant Thronton, Jenn was primarily in charge of private wealth clients, managing tax compliance and consulting with clients that owned their own businesses, typically S-corporations and partnerships. She oversaw the completion of the company, individual, trust, foundation and gift tax returns for these family groups. Jenn loved the relationships that were developed with the clients that she worked with over the years. She was also integrally involved with teaching and mentoring the new staff.

Some of Jenn’s favorite things to do are to attend and cheer on the Utah football team with her extended family. She also enjoyed watching her kid’s soccer games and being the team manager for many of their teams. Jenn loves to travel and explore new places, but her very favorite places are the beaches of Maui.
