Purchase
Timing:  We bought near the six month low.
Reason:  The economy is expected to experience low growth and possibly a recession, so we are looking at defensive stocks. With an increasing focus on green products, fair trade, and organic foods, Whole Foods Markets appears to be an attractive company. Its recent purchase of its major competitor, Wild Oats, gives the company a strong position nationally.

Sale
Timing:
Reason:  Consumers are spending less on discretionary items because of the weak economy. In addition, low cost stores such as Wal-Mart are offering organic foods putting pressure on organic food margins.
