Timing:  Spyders were trading at approximately the midpoint of their level over the last six months.
Reason:  The decision to invest in Spyders was made in the first class period of the new year. The class didn't like many of the stocks in the portfolio we inherited from the last class but we had not had the opportunity to investigate alternative stocks. However, we wanted to remain in the market. So as a safe alternative, we decided to invest in "the maarket" until we selected some specific stocks.

Reason:  To generate cash before the annual rebalancing; the class decided it would rather select specific securities than hold an index.
