Timing:  The stock is trading towards the middle of its six month range. Oil company stocks have dropped precipitously from the post-hurricane season, but have recently begun to rise again on worries of the situation in Iran.
Reason:  Given the increase in wealth in India and China, we expect oil prices to rise in the long run. Thus, we chose to buy a company with significant reserves. Refining capacity remains tight and so be believe an integrated oil compnay will be an attractive long term investment.

Reason:  Oil prices have softened recently. We wanted to purchase another higher growth company in place of Conoco Phillips.
