Timing:  We bought near the six month high.
Reason:  XLK is an ETF that invests in many of the top tech companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Alphabet, and Intel. We had a sizable cash balance in the account following several sales and decided to invest in an ETF prior to the semester break. XLK's stock price dipped following the Senate's tax bill proposal, which had an element that would negatively affect tech companies, but XLK seemed poised to recover that lost value as the Senate/House come to an agreement on the new tax bill. This fund would fit well in the SR fund because many of the stocks held in the ETF are working to decrease their carbon footprint and give back to the environment, along with taking special care of their employees.

Timing:  x
Reason:  We purchased XLK to maintain an investment in the market and sold the ETF to make investments in specific stocks.
