Purchase
Timing:  We bought at the six month high.
Reason:  We are issuing a BUY recommendation for MB with a 52-week price target of $38.95, implying an upside of 46.2%. We think that as the first mover into the niche of cloud-based business management solutions for health and wellness businesses, the company has established a defensible competitive position, having entered the niche SaaS space back in 2001. We also think that the market undervalues the monetization potential in MINDBODY’s partnerships. Although the revenue segment is currently nascent, we think that potential for future corporate wellness partnerships provides additional upside. Based on our valuation analysis, we believe that the company will grow faster than anticipated by the market.

Sale
Timing:  The company was acquired.
Reason:  Mindbody was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in an all-cash transaction.
